Motor Vehicle Technicians (some others call them “Mechanics”) are a vital part of our business. We have a team of nearly 300 skilled technicians in 60 workshops throughout the UK keeping 55,000 fleet vehicles on the road for our clients. Your knowledge and skills in fault diagnosis, vehicle service and repair ensure our fleet customers (including Royal Mail, Argos and Futijsu) operate efficiently and safely.
Your workload will be interesting and varied – we have a fleet of mostly Mercedes, Ford and Vauxhall vehicles less than three years old. Meet a Customer Service Agent...

Customer Service Agents are the first point of contact for our customers, turning enquiries into reservations either over the phone or face to face. Our nationwide van hire network and fleet size means we can guarantee customers a vehicle from our standard fleet with as little as four working hours’ notice if they are within 25 miles of a Northgate branch – so things can get pretty busy here!
There’s a constant stream of calls, deliveries and collections so you’ll need to enjoy organizing people and paperwork in a fast paced environment to make sure everything runs smoothly. We treat our customers with the utmost care and attention and your ‘can do’ approach will deliver the excellent service our customers have come to expect. You’ll also keep an eye on the bigger picture to spot opportunities to make things even more efficient and communicate across the site team to keep up our high standards.

As a driver at Northgate you will be the face of our company when you prepare and deliver vehicles to our customers. We want to offer outstanding service and our reputation depends on your commitment to customers and your professional approach. Vehicles need to pass our ‘ready to rent’ quality standard checks and must be delivered on time with the correct paperwork to the right location. Northgate is a fast paced business that employs a wide range of people. We have a great team who enjoy the work they do. If you care about offering the best possible service and enjoy driving, getting out and about and meeting new people this could be the role for you. You’ll need a full clean driving licence and if you have experience in a customer facing role or have previously worked with a commercial vehicle rental or leasing environment we’d like to hear from you.
Meet a Rental Manager...

As Rental Manager at Northgate your role is to make sure that your allocated depot runs smoothly and that the team is working effectively to offer excellent service to our customers and achieve targets. You will be responsible for the quality of all depot operations from the way vehicles are prepared to fleet audits and the security of the site. You and the depot team are the face of Northgate for our customers both face to face and over the phone so a customer service focus is essential. You’ll deal with enquiries and process bookings as well as processing insurance administration and rental paperwork.
Rental Managers also have people management responsibilities across payroll submission, holiday, absence and performance management. You’ll help and support your staff to be the best they can be through training and development as well as on the job coaching. You are likely to have a background in a busy, customer facing role with proven experience achieving targets.

Meet a Area Operations Manager...
As an Area Operations Manager for Northgate you will be responsible for driving growth and customer service across all of the branches within your area, ensuring targets and KPIs are achieved. Typically you will be responsible for around 10 branches and will be part of a committed, inspirational and dedicated management team.
Your branches will be focused on maximising the utilisation of vehicles available for rent and optimizing customer service. You will manage, motivate and inspire the branches within your area, working with other managers in the region as well as the wider business. You’ll also promote best practice and compliance across your area.
With multi-site management experience in a comparable customer-focused environment you’ll have previous experience in a role driven by delivering growth. You’ll also have a strong commercial understanding of the kind of decisions that underpin business. You’ll be a strong and motivational leader who can inspire others.
