Charity & Community

We are delighted to introduce Macmillan Cancer Support as our national charity partner 2016/2017. We’re really excited about working with Macmillan and together we can help change the lives of millions of people affected by cancer.  Our fundraising target for the current financial year is £53,000 (across all branches) which is enough to fund a Macmillan Nurse for a year.

Support for charities like Macmillan Cancer Support is needed more than ever as the harsh reality is that by 2020 almost one in two of us will get cancer in our lifetimes. Cancer is the toughest fight most people will ever face but they don’t have to go through it alone. The Macmillan team, thanks to the generous and on-going support of individuals and corporate partners such as Northgate, is there every step of the way. Whether this is from the nurses and therapists helping patients during their treatment, to the campaigners improving cancer care, Macmillan’s ambition is to reach everyone affected by cancer – but they can’t do this alone.

Northgate people may choose to support Macmillan because a loved one, friend or colleague has been affected by a cancer experience, or simply because they want to help others through their cancer journey.  We are currently working on four fantastic events to include in our fundraising calendar which starts with the hilarious Go Mad, Go Green event, followed shortly by the popular Coffee Morning and many more volunteering opportunities will be made available to our staff throughout the year.

Anything we do will make a difference and help us support the millions of people that are affected by cancer.
