"I enjoy working with different types of people, both in terms of the customers I deal with, as well as the people within the Northgate team. I also really enjoy the autonomy that Northgate offer, you really have the ability to crack on with the job and do well."

What are your responsibilities within your role? I have two sides to my role really - the first is to find real growth potential within my accounts - with the second it’s ultimately to make sure my clients are happy and on-board with Northgate.

What do you enjoy most about your role? I enjoy working with different types of people, both in terms of the customers I deal with, as well as the people within the Northgate team.  I also really enjoy the autonomy that Northgate offer, you really have the ability to crack on with the job and do well.

What do you think about the management style within Northgate? They really do look at the individual, so I suppose I am managed in a different way to some other team mates, dependent on where my strengths and weaknesses lie - which I enjoy, rather than them using a prescriptive method for everyone.

What development have you received within Northgate? I actually first joined Northgate in a different job to which I am in now - I started as a New Business Manager which was essentially more of a ‘hunter’ role. My current role differs from new business; I am now allowed more time to develop the relationship with the Client. As a New Business Manager, it was about finding new opportunities, bringing them in and working with them to introduce them to Northgate, then passing them on to a Business Development Manager. What I wanted to do for my personal development, was to complete the full circle and be the person who runs with the accounts after the first 6 months as well, eventually to really get a full understanding of what a client gets they come to Northgate, and to deliver on the bits that I am telling them from the beginning too.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career with Northgate? It is a fantastic opportunity. You have to work hard but at the same time it is all about building relationships internally and externally - if you can manage all of those relationships and have the right mentality to work, it's not difficult at all!
